Skyrim Rainmeter Skin Add-on

Description

Welcome to my Skyrim add-on! When I first came across Axerron's Skyrim skin, I was floored. He did a great job on it. In all honesty, he inspired me to add some things. I thank him for that.

You can find Axerron's skin here:

However, there were some things I wanted to change (IF YOU WANT TO SEE A PICTURE OF IT, KEEP SCROLLING DOWN AS I DID INCLUDE IT).

Please be aware I have never written anything for Rainmeter before. I have never submitted anything like this before as well. So please take it easy on me :S

Some of these modifications were entirely my own while others were heavily taken from others. I chose not to redistribute the entire Skyrim skin. Simply because it is not my own (although I believe I may have the rights to do so). I'd rather share my own modifications.

I added a battery meter when I saw in the comments that someone wanted one. I simply took a meter from elfurbe and added the red health bar .png. I did this simply to complete the skin. I really love doing all my own work (even if it sucks) rather than getting help. Unfortunately, writing something like that was too difficult for me. So, I had to borrow :( I'm not sure at all if I made it work properly. I'm on a desktop so there's no battery. I'm hoping that as a laptop battery decreases, so will the red bar. I also did not feature it in the screenshot (below).

Next, I added what I call a "Control Bar" (really couldn't think of any other name). Simply put, it allows you shutdown, restart, or put your computer to standby. By default, the text is color coded (just what I thought would be the appropriate color for shutdown and so forth). You can definitely change the font to match the rest of your skin. I also could have made the background more interesting. Let me know what I could have done better, or modify it yourself! I'd love to see what people come up with :D

I wanted to put a hibernate button in, but I was having trouble. It really could have been my computer but I didn't want to risk it. In order to standby or hibernate Windows from a command from command line, hibernation must be either disabled or enabled. You cannot send a command to standby with hibernation enabled. So I made a batch file for both buttons to first disable/enable hibernation and then do the appropriate action. Unfortunately, I did not work well for hibernation. Upon enabling hibernation and hibernating, turning the computer on again would result in "Windows has not shut down properly" and it never hibernated properly. You can also edit the batch file to remove the text and the "Press any key to continue". I simply wanted to warn users of what was happening in case for whatever reason they didn't want that to happen (rather be as safe as I can be).

The background used for the buttons was actually the horizontal bar. I simply merged a few copies of it together to make a box to fit in the top right corner of the screen.

Lastly, the Skyrim Dock. I took a screenshot of the in-game menu, then used GIMP to crop it, smooth it out, and color everything black (as some of it is not black). That was a LOT of work for me :S but it turned out not too badly. I included the original image I took before modifying it in case anyone can do a better job than I can (which is a high chance).

I would LOVE to do more things with the dock idea, but I'm just not capable. Such as make it animated as in the real game. Maybe make the actual "glitter" effects when you hover over one of the four sides. Maybe make it more than just launching apps (like click on "Music" and a small music player slides out nicely or some weather widget). I feel it has more potential. Again, I'd love to see what you people can do with it :)

Here's a link to see what mine looks like (disregard the number in the top left corner as it's not in the actual skin):

What's not included in this file here, is the network skin and the weather skin. I used the network skin from illustro (default one) and the weather skin is from shivaism. Here's where you can find it if you like it. Also, the IP address isn't normally blurred out. I just did that for security reasons :p

I just changed the font to fit the Skyrim skin (for the network and weather).

I also included some random Skyrim/Oblivion screenshots (mostly Skyrim). They were from when I was testing out taking screenshots, and a lot of them turned out well. You're free to use them if you like them as long as you credit me for the work!

One more thing, this is in .7z archive. I'm not entirely sure if WinRAR opens .7z, but if it doesn't just download 7zip. It's free and arguably better than WinRAR.

Please leave feedback if you do download it :D

This "preview" doesn't show anything, is too damn small !!

Maybe your skin is great, i don't know, but IMO this preview doesn't catch the atention.
